About the Firm
Tarleton Law Firm, PLLC is a boutique practice based in Dallas and Terrell, focused on estate planning, probate and trust administration, and business formation. We serve individuals, families, and small business owners across the DFW metroplex and East Texas. We are a small, high-quality team that takes our work seriously and treats clients like people, not files.
The Role
We are seeking a licensed Texas attorney to join the firm as an Associate Attorney. This is a substantive role with real client contact and a defined path toward autonomy. You will handle matters across all three of our practice areas under the supervision of the principal attorney, with increasing independence as you develop. You will be doing meaningful legal work from day one.
Responsibilities
Handle estate planning matters including wills, revocable trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives from consultation through execution
Assist with probate and trust administration matters including independent administrations, muniment of title, and heirship proceedings
Draft and file business formation documents including LLCs, operating agreements, and related entity work
Manage client communications and relationships with professionalism and care
Maintain billable hour minimums and contribute to firm growth over time
Qualifications
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas (required)
0–4 years of experience; estate planning and probate experience preferred but not required
Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
Ability to manage a docket and meet deadlines independently
Client-facing experience and professional demeanor
Finance, accounting, or business background a plus
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $125,000
Performance bonus (discretionary)
Origination fee sharing: 10% on personally originated matters
Revenue share for high billing

Location
Primary work location is Dallas, Texas, with occasional presence at the Terrell, Texas office for client meetings and signings. Some remote flexibility.
Requirements
Qualifications
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas (required)
