Responsibilities of Our Associate Intake Attorney
Case Evaluation & Legal Analysis
Assess case merits, liability, damages, and legal viability
Identify key legal issues, deadlines, and risks
Analyze documentation, including contracts, medical records, employment files, or incident reports
Make informed recommendations regarding acceptance or declination of matters
Provide preliminary legal advice consistent with firm policies
Case Development & Strategy
Spot evidentiary needs and recommend next investigative steps
Outline potential claims, defenses, and legal theories
Collaborate with partners and litigation teams on strategy for accepted cases
Prepare case summaries and risk assessments for internal review
Documentation & Compliance
Draft engagement letters, retainer agreements, and declination letters
Maintain thorough, accurate intake notes and client records
Ensure conflict checks are completed and documented
Track statutes of limitations and other critical deadlines
Maintain compliance with ethical and confidentiality requirements
Operational & Administrative Support
Manage a high volume of consultations efficiently
Use case management and CRM systems to document and track leads
Coordinate with intake staff, paralegals, and attorneys for case transfers
Assist in improving intake workflows and procedures

Requirements
Preferred/Required Qualifications of Our Associate Intake Attorney
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active bar license in good standing
1–4+ years of litigation, plaintiff-side, or client-facing legal experience preferred
Strong issue-spotting and analytical skills
Excellent communication and listening abilities
Confident, empathetic, and professional demeanor
Organized with strong documentation habits
Comfortable managing a high volume of consultations
