About You: We’re seeking an experienced, business-minded, and highly skilled Employment Counsel with substantial litigation and advice & counsel experience to join our growing practice. This role is designed for a partner-level or seasoned of-counsel attorney who thrives in a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and client-centered environment.
You are someone who:
Has proven experience advising employers on complex, fast-paced employment law issues. Can seamlessly pivot between strategic advice, policy development, agency defense, and litigation management. Is a trusted advisor to business owners, executives, and HR leaders. Enjoys autonomy and thrives in a flexible, remote-forward setting. Has strong business sense, practical judgment, and excellent client relationship skills. The Opportunity: This is a part-time, remote position with an expected 20 billable hours per week. You will directly advise and represent California employers in a wide range of employment law matters, including:
Counseling clients on employee relations, terminations, leaves of absence, wage & hour issues, accommodation requests, workplace investigations, and compliance best practices. Drafting and revising employment policies, handbooks, agreements, and separation documents. Representing employers in state and federal employment litigation. Handling matters before the Labor Commissioner, Department of Civil Rights, EEOC, and other administrative agencies. Supporting clients through employment-related disputes, audits, and crisis situations. Mentoring junior attorneys as needed (if desired).
Compensation & Benefits:
$135,000 - $155,000 annually, depending on experience Bonus potential based on performance and firm profitability. PTO provided. Requirements
Active license to practice law in California. Minimum 10+ years of California employment law experience, including both litigation and proactive counseling. Strong track record of independently managing employment matters from intake to resolution. Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with business clients. Exceptional writing, analytical, and client communication skills. Practical, solutions-oriented approach to employment issues. Prior small firm, boutique, or in-house experience a plus.
