Description

We are a small, well-established defense firm, seeking a motivated and skilled attorney to join our Dallas area practice. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of legal practice experience, strong writing and advocacy skills, and the ability to take ownership of cases from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload with appropriate supervision and support
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and correspondence
• Take and defend depositions
• Attend hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings
• Develop case strategy and communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
• Prepare cases for trial and, when appropriate, serve as first chair at trial
• Work closely with other attorneys and staff to provide high-quality, responsive client service

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school with an active Texas bar license in good standing
• 3+ years of practicing law
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and case-management abilities
• First-chair jury trial experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated courtroom, deposition, and litigation experience preferred
• Experience in civil rights defense, Texas Tort Claims Act defense and employment litigation defense preferred
