Description
Senior Family Law Attorney (Remote) — Washington State Licensed Birch Bay Law Group PLLC / Cowlitz Law Group PLLC
Compensation: approximately $187,000 to $350,000 annualized, at a base rate between $100 to $200 per hour, depending on experience, hours, and caseload. This is a 1099 independent-contractor engagement; the role is flexible, from part-time (around 10-20 hours per week) up to full-time equivalent. Compensation is gross of taxes. As a contract engagement, the position does not include employer-provided benefits, and the contractor is responsible for self-employment taxes and their own insurance. Strong performers have meaningful production-based upside.
Location: Fully remote — work from anywhere. Active Washington State Bar Association membership in good standing is required, as the matters are Washington-venued.
The opportunity: We are a growing Washington family law litigation practice expanding our senior litigation bench. We handle sophisticated, high-stakes family law matters — complex dissolution, contested parenting and relocation cases, high-asset property division, and protection orders — and we are looking for a seasoned attorney to take genuine ownership of a demanding docket. You will have real autonomy, direct access to firm leadership, and a capable operations team behind you, so your time is spent practicing law rather than navigating bureaucracy.
The attorney we are looking for: You are an experienced family law lawyer who can carry a contested matter from intake through judgment with skill and sound judgment. You hold yourself to a high professional standard and treat the fundamentals of sound practice — diligent client communication, careful stewardship of client funds, conscientious file management, and uncompromising ethical compliance — as the foundation of good lawyering rather than an afterthought. You value working within a firm that takes its professional obligations seriously and invests in the systems and people that support excellent work.
What we offer: Modern infrastructure, including Clio and integrated practice and compliance systems, supported by a dedicated operations team. Meaningful autonomy within a firm that holds itself to a high standard of practice. And compensation that reflects the value of the work you produce.
Equal opportunity: We evaluate every applicant on merit. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by the Washington Law Against Discrimination (RCW 49.60) and applicable federal law.
To apply: Reach out in confidence to officemanager@cowlitzgroup.com with your resume and a brief note describing your family law litigation experience. We respond to every serious inquiry.
